Compensation: $13.00 to $15.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: The Activities Supervisor is responsible for conducting and assisting guests with activities that are organized for all guests of the resort and assists in overseeing the smooth operation of the activities department.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School / GED or equivalent experience.
  • Prior recreational and or hospitality experience preferred
  • First Aid Certification preferred
  • CPR Certification preferred
  • Must be able to write, speak, and read English proficiently
  • Must possess basic computer skills
  • Must be able to respond to guest requests quickly and efficiently
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, prepare, lead and conduct activities for children and adults
  • Keeping work areas clean and organized.
  • Being able to instruct guests on resort activities and facility locations.
  • Support director in activities for convention groups when assigned.
  • Take reservations for activities.
  • Communicate with all other departments regarding the functions of the activities department. 
  • Responsible for department bank.
  • Manage all hotel pools in director’s absence.
  • Support corporate group activities as needed.
  • Assist in creation of weekly departmental schedule.
  • Responsible for leading all adult and children’s activity programs.
  • Be involved in planning and implementing activities within the resort – to include children’s programs, adult activities, special or holiday events, corporate events and general recreation.
  • Supervising activities staff, ensuring all necessary duties are taking place.
  • Ensure recreation areas are in clean, safe, and working order.
  • Adhere to and enforce all pool rules.
  • Support the resort’s training programs including but not limited to departmental tasks, OSHA, Safety, Educational and Associate Enhancement programs
  • Make guests’ request top priority.
  • Be proactive with guest troubleshooting. 
  • Adhere to hotel safety standards and mentor these to attendants.  Be observant and proactive in regard to safety around the resort. 
  • Operation of office equipment

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Learn and embody a genuine “Can Do” attitude at all times at the resort. 
  • Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.

ENVIRONMENT: Indoor, well-lit, carpeted office environment. Indoor pool facility, humidity and tile surfaces. Outdoor pool areas, weather permitting, concrete walking surfaces. Outdoor variable spaces including paved sidewalks, grass patches, covered & uncovered spaces.
