Compensation: $75,000 to $85,000 per year

JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: The Accounting Manager will be an integral team member to the Accounting department and will oversee 1-3 team members, in conjunction with the Director of Financial Operations, and maintain accounting standards within established policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • College degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Two-Four years’ experience working in hotel accounting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain and secure assets, minimizing outstanding receivables and investments inventories.
  • Prepare within conjunction with General Manager and Department Heads, all operational budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare cash flow forecast on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare Monthly Bank Recs.
  • Prepare Journal entries necessary to close the books for the resort and the HOA within 5 business days.
  • Maintain all contracts, leases and other legal and financial records.
  • Implement and support property operating policies and procedures.
  • Operate in compliance with all local, state and federal laws and government regulations.
  • Coordinate all internal financial training and development of department heads and managers.
  • Function as financial advisor to Conference Center and provide on-going special project.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
  • Respond to any reasonable task assigned by Director of Financial Operations and General Manager.
  • Attend and conduct meetings as required both within the department and within the property’s organizational structure.
  • Ensure effective, solution-oriented communication within the department and with other operation departments.

ENVIRONMENT: Inside well-lit office environment. Comfortable ventilation.
