Compensation: $9.00 per hour, plus tips and commission

JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: The primary function of a cosmetologist is to support The Abbey Resort and Avani Spa in their commitment to customer service. This requires performing all hair styling/cutting/chemical services as well as nail treatments, waxing, and make-up applications. Cosmetologist may be cross trained in aesthetics services. Cosmetologists are responsible for focusing on retail objectives to enhance guest experience. Cosmetologists are responsible for self-promoting and maintaining regular cliental.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent.

Licensed by Department of Safety and Professional Services, Esthetician or Cosmetologist.

Must have undergone the state requirements for licensing in related area

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, or sit for an entire shift. Communicate verbally.

One-year previous experience.

CPR certification preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintain knowledge and understanding of current thinking in cosmetology field

Ability to perform all services on service menu for specific department

Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services.

Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered using this knowledge to up sell product and service

Maintain cleanliness & sanitary procedures according to Wisconsin statutes

Complete duties set by Salon Manager to ensure proper care of work areas, linens, products, and equipment

Always exceed the expectations of our guests

Greet guests with a smile and handshake

Consistently maintain cleanliness of treatment, supply, back of house, and break rooms

Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding to attendance

Maintain uniform standards set by company

Attend monthly meetings

Attend in-house training to keep updated with spa trends

Attend external training to keep updated in the industry and share information with staff

Follow opening and closing procedures

Possess a positive attitude, communication, organization, time management, people skills

Arrive 15-30 minutes prior to scheduled shift to set up for treatments and organize workspace

Suggest and sell retail items for greater guest experience and education. Set retail goals with manager and review regularly

Provide upmost customer service, regardless of customer complaint

Maintain timeliness during treatment and begins and ends treatments on time

Answer guests’ questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner. ·

Work assigned schedule.

Must be open minded, detail oriented, patient, resourceful, nurturing, consistent, honest, and productive.

Responsible for checking own schedule in SMS to ensure shift coverage.

Use products within proper guidelines as set by Standard Operating Procedures.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime, or reduced hours.
