We are seeking a talented, motivated, and entrepreneurial selling individual to join our team. This position will be hire #1 for the First Hospitality Global Sales division.  We are excited to find someone to join our First team and help us build out what will be the global sales team that people think of First!

The Managing Director of Global Sales is a strategic leader and developer responsible for building a high-performing global group sales organization of best-in-class sales professionals.   This role will cultivate clients and accounts for First through a relationship-driven, highly efficient, and professional approach across multiple market segments. The Managing Director will align the global group sales strategy with customer expectations, seamlessly integrating their efforts with the unique needs of individual properties and the overall company goals. By fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence, this position will be pivotal in delivering measurable results for our hotels and establishing the company as a leader in global hospitality sales.  This position will also be responsible for cultivating crew contract business for the appropriate hotels within the portfolio.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Lead the creation of innovative, customer-centric global sales office that drive growth across market segments.
  • Establish long-term strategic relationships with key industry clients to occupy our hotels.
  • Identifies and leverages strategic sales partnerships, including intermediary relationships.
  • Deploys sales efforts to maximize efficiency and sales production results.
  • Recommends marketing, sales initiatives, and activities to improve account generation, revenue optimization, and growth.
  • Collaborate with regional and property leadership to ensure sales strategies align with individual property goals and brand standards.
  • High ability to influence decisions at the customer and property levels.
  • Maximizes company strategic deliverables and exceeds hotel revenue goals through the sound and prudent use of resources and expenses.
  • Partners with the Events Team to develop and support the design of tradeshows/events that deliver unique customer experiences and organize activities and resources to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior sales leadership to set and refine measurable goals, adapt to market trends, and provide regular performance updates.
  • Ensure accuracy and transparency in incentive calculations, distributing timely reports to sales team members.
  • Develop and manage detailed annual budgets in collaboration with key leadership. Monthly reconcile expenses to adhere to the approved budget.
  • Provide progress updates during First’s monthly Commercial meetings.
  • Conducts data analysis on a monthly basis (by property) to help development and creation of strategic plans to increase revenue opportunities within assigned markets segments.
  • Maintain best in class response time to all leads, inquiries, opportunities and any client related issues. 
  • Work closely with property sales teams to maximize relationship potential by turning over group leads and offering client introductions.
  • Solicit new accounts through site inspections, familiarization trips, written communication, telephone solicitation, and outside sales calls
  • Travel to attend trade shows, events, and industry meetings and conduct sales calls including the preparation of events, invitation of clients and facilitating of events and recapping results and ROI.
  • Drive new group business that fit within established guidelines of the property
  • Must have the keen ability to understand the competitive landscape and implement strategies to shift business away from competitors.
  • Account Management that is focused on delivering customer value and growing existing market share
  • Researches potential accounts and identifies prospects for both hotels.
  • Develop and maintain accurate knowledge of assigned accounts within the defined market segments to include business economics and travel needs; identify new business opportunities within the existing account portfolio; develop revenue, room night and/or market share goals for all clients within the assigned portfolio; recommend and initiate tactics that match customers' growth patterns and travel needs.

  • Rolodex of Clients (Group & Crew)

  • Understands Soft and Independent Brands. Can pivot between the two and understand the Brand dos and don’ts
  • Came up as a property seller

Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience in a Global or National Sales position selling multiple properties/brands
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue goals in the assigned market segments and providing growth through your efforts
  • Strong negotiation and time management skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with partners, clients and internal groups; both written and verbal
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis
  • Ability to put together and plan comprehensive sales trips and / or handle participation in travel trade shows as appropriate
  • Strong work ethic, highly self-motivated and possess a strong sense of urgency and a positive “Can Do” attitude - must be a team player

Communication:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including electronic communication
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in primary language used in the workplace

Physical:

  • Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time. Travel is outside the local area and overnight.
  • Must be physically located within 60 miles of a major airport. Preference to centrally located
