The impact you’ll make…

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate reporting of revenue to ensure that the information is balanced to the general ledger. They will also be responsible for reconciling and billing city ledger accounts.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Review of the work of the Rooms Night Audit (and F+B, if applicable) ensuring accuracy of the information as reported. Properly allocate revenues and post to the appropriate ledger accounts.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of revenues reported to Accounts Receivable by balancing the accounts to appropriate ledgers. This is done on a daily and monthly basis
  • Reconcile and bill all city ledger accounts. Perform follow-up billing and credit collection documentation and inform Controller of any potential uncollectible accounts.
  • Set up new accounts in accordance with established credit policy.
  • File and distribute credit card cancellations, bulletins and credit warnings. Process and follow-up on all returned checks accepted as cash payment. Record General Ledger and City Ledger reconciliations.
  • Review and properly code for posting and reporting all S&P charges
  • Provide assistancein the closing of books at month end.
  • Prepare any daily, weekly or monthly reports as requested by management.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Controller or Assistant Controller.
  • Assist with Accounting Office issues as needed, i.e., billing inquiries, administrative duties, etc
  • Follow all policies and procedures put forth by the Ambassador Chicago.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You should be able to…

Sit 8+ hours per day at desk/computer

Requirements…

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. At least two years of prior experience.
  • Ability to multi-task working in a business environment.
  • Friendly, outgoing and dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations.
