Compensation: $100,000 to $130,000 per year

JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: Leads the food and beverage overall strategy and operations in order to ensure that the highest quality standards are met for food & beverage, service, cleanliness, sales achievement, profitability and marketing of all operations. This includes recruiting and hiring to build a team that innovates, supports and adds value to the objectives of the Director of Food & Beverage. Engages with managers and supervisors with daily operations, following standard operating procedures, conducting team meetings to discuss issues and recommendations. Guides and manages leaders and team members of several food and beverage outlets, banquet operations team, culinary team (collaborating with Executive Chef) and room service.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s in business administration or equivalent.

5 years of F&B experience.

A proven track record of strategic success in food & beverage sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, and employee growth

Ability to make quick decisions in high stress situations.

Excellent customer service skills.

Pleasant and positive personality.

Well organized.

Efficiency in Microsoft  Excel, Word, ECT


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Create and execute an annual strategic plan to improve all parts of the food & beverage business.

Monitor, critique, and evolve strategy to constantly improve food quality and service levels.

Forecasting and scheduling of staff according to occupancy levels.

Daily tracking of payroll and revenue.

Coaching and counseling staff, as well as holding monthly meetings for staff.

Ensure quality physical atmosphere and cleanliness of restaurants, bars, banquet spaces, and kitchens.

Monitoring of all current inventories and assisting in end of the month inventories.

Attending department head, conference review, food & beverage, and pre-con meetings as required.

Maintaining profitability of F&B through forecasting and staffing.

Communicate with Resort Manager & General Manager on all upcoming events, promotions, new products, etc.

Handling of guest complaints in a professional and efficient manner.

Providing a pleasant and efficient atmosphere for staff and guests. Foster a healthy and desirable work environment.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
  • Responsible for continuous training and development of F&B staff.   

ENVIRONMENT: Indoors, dimly lit, carpeted, climate-controlled environment. Hard kitchen floors with occasional slippery or greasy areas. Handling hot china and silver. Outdoors, cement surfaces, with exposure to outdoor climate and elements.
