The impact you'll make...
The Rooms Controller is responsible for all pre-registration, room blocks, and handling all special reservation requests for individuals and groups. Prepare all VIP key packets and make special arrangements as needed. Meticulously manage and oversee the Reservations process. Assist in Front Desk Supervisor role. Build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of staff across all departments. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.

What you'll be doing...
GROUP RESERVATIONS:
- Building group blocks
- Entering rooming lists
- Creating booking links via ResLink
- Monitor cut-off dates and confirm a group room list has been received, prior to cut-off date
- Pre-blocking rooms (ie. entertainment groups)
- Set up group routing/billing
- Process group deposits in accordance with contracted deposit schedules
- Audit all resumes prior to group’s arrivals
- Manage site room requests
INDIVIDUAL RESERVATIONS:
- Special arrangements for packages, qualified discounts, etc (Explore, AAA, Romance, Pet)
- Special arrangements for Virtuoso guests
- Property contact for Ambassador guests
- Process all group reservation requests, changes and cancellations received by phone, fax, e-mail, mail and internally
- Systems admin – assist with onboarding new associates with applicable systems access
REVENUE:
- Manage oversells
- Raise awareness of inventory issues
- Daily check of group blocks, update inventory to keep upgraded room types available, maximize pre/post days, etc.
- Participate in weekly revenue calls
- Make recommendations on future selling strategies (deployed rates, length of stay restrictions)
- Monitor group ceilings
- Assists with setting strategies for overbooking level during high periods
ROOMS SYSTEMS:
- MARSHA balancing
- Maximize sell outs, manage inventory (shut down when needed)
FRONT OFFICE:
- available to answer calls that come in to Hotel front desk
- assist Front Desk as assigned
COLLABORATION:
- work with HK to identify site rooms and ensure ready for walk throughs
- collaborate with front office and sales team daily
Requirements and success factors...
- Previous Marriott and MARSHA system experience strongly preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of personality types and situations
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Effectively use Microsoft Office 365 suite at an intermediate skill level
- Maintain high degree of organization and accuracy
- Able to sit at a desk/computer for hours at a time
