Pastry Cooks play an essential role in delivering an exceptional dining experience at The Left Bank by preparing and presenting high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods. Under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef, Pastry Cooks execute precise techniques, ensure consistency, and create visually stunning and delicious pastries. From delicate viennoiserie to plated desserts, this role requires attention to detail, creativity, and a passion for pastry arts.
What you’ll be doing…
- Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Follow all food safety standards, including proper date marking, rotation, and storage of ingredients.
- Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of all pastry items.
- Operate pastry kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, sheeters, and dough cutters with care and precision.
- Assist in menu development by contributing ideas and experimenting with seasonal ingredients.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of pastry workstations and storage areas.
- Work efficiently to meet service time expectations while maintaining the highest quality.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless service and execution.
- Uphold the professionalism and high standards of The Weston Hotel brand.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Pastry Chef
Requirements…
Experience & Education:
- 1+ years of pastry or baking experience (restaurant, hotel, or bakery preferred)
Communication:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in the primary language used in the workplace
Physical:
- Stand and walk frequently throughout an 8+ hour shift
- Bend, reach, and pivot frequently during work tasks
- Lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 50 pounds occasionally

His fondest memories growing up in The Great Lakes region include picnics and barbecues with his family, camping and cooking outdoors, shucking corn on the porch, and eating tomatoes straight off the vine.
It’s no wonder he feels at home in Vermont and we’re so glad he’s here.
